DAY 4: Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City
A relaxing day involving a short flight from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Afternoon at leisure in Ho Chi Minh
DAY 5: Ho Chi Minh City Sightseeing
Today enjoy a full day tour of Ho Chi Minh City. Highlights include Chinatown, Ben Thanh Market, the former Presidential Palace and colonial sights
DAY 8: Hue Sightseeing
Depart to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Then visit Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River
DAY 9: Hue to Hanoi
Start your day with a visit to the city’s vibrant Dong Ba Market, before a cyclo ride through the ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors went to relax. Continue to former emperor Minh Mang’s tomb and Khai Dinh’s Tomb. Take a flight from Hue to Hanoi where you will be staying overnight
DAY 10: Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast depart Hanoi and drive to Halong Bay. Arrive at the jetty in Halong City and board your boat. Lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities (depending on the boat’s itinerary) or just relax and absorb the scenery. The boat sets anchor for the night amongst the impressive karst formations. DAY 11: Hanoi
After your late checkout, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast subterranean network was originally constructed by the Viet Minh in the 1940s. Used to great effect by the Viet Cong, it housed whole communities in its unbelievably narrow passages. Meet a veteran who lived in the tunnels to hear a fascinating personal account of the war. Next, you’ll head to the airport for your return flight home.1
DAY 12: Hanoi Departure
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hanoi, visiting the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, the picturesque West Lake and the 6th Century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. The rest of the day is at leisure until your airport transfer for your flight home
