Etihad Airlines Review

Boeing B777-300 Manchester to Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airlines, the ‘World Leading Airline’* certainly didn’t disappoint on my recent trip between Manchester and Abu Dhabi. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to Business Class at the gate and was very impressed.

As you step on the aircraft you are made to feel special, taken to your seat before being given a glass of either champagne or a soft alternative and warm roasted nuts which went down very nicely after an early start!

The layout within the Boeing B777-300 is 1-2-1 meaning each seat has access to the aisle along with your own dedicated overhead bin. The seat itself was very comfortable and spacious with built in massage options which was very welcomed on the 7-hour flight.

Etihad Airlines Remote Control

The entertainment offering had a good mix of old and new films, along with Arabic, European, Indian and Asian Cinema in multiple languages and with subtitles. I was very happy to find the 7 Live TV channels showing the latest news and live sport meaning I could watch the F1 qualifying whilst in the air! A good range of TV programmes were also available to watch.

Etihad Business Class

Etihad offer an A La Carte menu as well as all day food. A nice addition is that you can choose exactly when you would like your food and how long between each course. The choice of food was varied and catered for all needs. Not too far from what you would expect in a restaurant. I went for the Arabic Mezze to start, risotto for main course and finishing with a chocolate bomb, all of which were of a very good standard. I had to take a rain check on the cheese course as I was so full, one thing they do ensure is that you do not go hungry!

The in-flight mobile signal meaning you can stay connected to the ground and catch up on emails was welcomed. One thing that I was disappointed with however, is that you must pay for Wifi, even within Business Class. Whilst this isn’t too expensive, I feel this should be a standard offering outside of Economy Class.

Overall, a very good service offered by Etihad Airways and fully deserved ‘World Leading Airline’ accolade. I cannot wait for my next trip!
